Brigshaw High School & Language College
From North A64, M1, A1(M) At Junction 14 on M1 take A656 towards Castleford. This is first exit on M1 after leaving the M1/A1 interchange, Continue towards Castleford. At traffic lights at B6137 turn right into Londike Lane towards Kippax. At mini roundabout in Kippax turn left into Butt Hill Hills as you go down hill bare left into Brigshaw Lane. School is on left in bottom of valley. Take first turning left into School grounds, the School buildings will be on your right, continue to parking, pitch and changing rooms alongside.
From South/East/West M62. Junction 32 take A639 towards Castleford. Retail Park on your left as you leave roundabout!! Continue towards Castleford, at roundabout follow A656 towards Castleford Town Centre. Continue over a number of roundabouts on A656 and cross Aire & Calder Canal.
Either At next traffic lights on A656 turn left towards Allerton Bywater into Station Road that becomes Leeds Road. As road rises up hill near the top, Brighsaw Lane is on your right, sign for Brigshaw School & Thomas Danby Language College. After right bend on Brigshaw Lane there are three entrances to School, take third entrance on your right into School grounds, the School buildings will be on your right, continue to parking, pitch and changing rooms alongside.
Or Continue to third set of traffic lights on A656, at B6137 turn left into Londike Lane towards Kippax. At roundabout in Kippax turn left into Butt Hill Hills as you go down hill bare left into Brigshaw Lane. School is on left in bottom of valley. POCKLINGTON SCHOOL
Pocklington is just off the A1079 York to Hull/Beverley Market Weighton Road. From WEST & SOUTH YORKS the best route would M62 Junction37 Howden, take the A614 to the A1079, turn left towards York.(See below) From BRIDLINGTON, SCARBOROUGH & DRIFFIELD on the A614 South will bring you to the A1079 where you should turn right towards York. From YORK/HARROGATE on A1079: Pocklington can be approached by taking the B1246 Barmby Road, to Pocklington, turn right into George Street and then right into West Green, the School is on your right. From HULL/ BEVERLEY/M62 on A1079: the B1246, The Balk, will bring you to the centre of Pocklington where you turn left into West Green, the School is on your right. However if travelling in either direction you ignore the previous instructions and remain on the A1079 and turn either left from York, or right from Hull at POCKLINGTON GLIDING CLUB into West Green, as you approach Pocklington the School is on your left.
To get to the pitches please Park in the public car park adjacent to the limited school parking area. Parking in Pocklington is free. Walk through school and across the Cricket outfield past the cricket pavilion to the astro pitches. Please try to avoid muddy areas. Every player/coach/umpire wishing to enter the field of play will need 2 pairs of shoes 1 pair to cross the grass cricket pitch area to arrive and to use the pavilion toilets which are over 100 yds away 1 pair to use on the astro playing surface IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE ADHERES TO THIS FOOTWEAR USAEGE RULE! There will be no shelter/covered area adjacent to the pitches. There will be no catering other than cafes/shops in town
Darton High School
We use rear entrance off Ballfield Lane. Junction 38 M1 signed A637 Huddersfield From roundabout take A637 signed Barnsley Take second turning right into Ballfield Lane, Road goes uphill, at top of hill almost opposite ‘’Best One’’ Mini Market turn right into housing estate and promptly turn left. Follow road round to right and approach rear entrance to school with parking and pitch in front of you. This is only entrance available to School for our purposes. Changing facilities, toilets etc in building at left hand end of the astro turf pitch. No vending machine etc., available as yet, but there is a room that could be available for making hot drinks and selling tuck etc., if a Club wished to raise Club Funds
From Halifax Town Centre
Take A629 towards Huddersfield/Elland & M62. Through traffic lights with Calderdale Royal Hospital on your right and continue down hill, shortly after McDonalds & Shell Garage on your left with Keighley Plumbers Merchants premises on our immediate left, either Turn sharp left into Jubilee Road and continue up hill to junction, turn sharp right into Backhold Lane, continue to small traffic island on left and turn left into Park Lane, school is on right in about 200 yards bare left in front of Public House, THE PUNCH BOWL, into one way street Exley Bank, this is a cobbled road. (not recommended but a possible route) at junction at top of hill turn left into Backhold Road, at small traffic island on right turn right into Park Lane, School is on right in about 200 yards
From M62 Leave Motorway at Junction 24 Halifax/Huddersfield/Elland. A629 The Motorway has 4 lanes approaching this junction from East. (travelling West from Leeds/Bradford & M1) DO NOT MISS THIS TURN OFF as the next opportunity to leave motorway and reverse direction is over 10 miles away at junction 22 on the Lancashire/Yorkshire Border. Take dual carriageway to roundabout and take 2nd turning Halifax/Elland A629. The A629 dual carriageway goes under a bridge and down hill, THERE ARE 3 or 4 SPEED CAMERAS both down hill & up hill on this road….BE WARNED 50mph limit !! Continue down hill to end of dual carriageway, and through traffic lights towards Halifax, look for PUNCH BOWL Public House on your right & McDonalds and Shell Garage on right ahead of you, with Keighley Plumbers Merchants in front of you, either turn right as 2 above or bare right as 1 above.
